Intermittent Downtime of EBSCO Databases on May 30th





On Friday, May 30th, EBSCO will be performing network upgrades. During a brief 2-hour window (9pm to 11pm), users may experience disruptions in access to their databases. Representatives apologize for any inconvenience this intermittent access may cause.

Full-Access Rosetta Stone Is Here!



We are proud to announce that users may now start at any level of proficiency when choosing a language to learn on the Rosetta Stone database. For those new to it, Rosetta Stone is an online language learning program that tests reading, writing, listening and speaking proficiency for over 20 languages, including Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish (European and Latin American), Vietnamese, and English (British and American). Try it out today!

4th Annual Haiku Contest Winner!


Congratulations! Madeline Renals (Senior, Mathematical Sciences) is the winner of the 4th Annual Haiku Contest! For National Poetry Month (April), we asked that students submit library-themed haikus for the chance of winning an Amazon.com gift card. A total of 66 haikus were received from 35 contestants. Here is the winning haiku:

Books wait patiently
Scents of coffee drift gently
Thoughts flow easily

Madeline’s haiku will be featured in the next Since You’re Here newsletter and preserved in the UTD online archive, Treasures @ UT Dallas. Thank you to everyone who participated!
