However, IEEE Xplore publications can be accessed alternately through one of two ways. Users may either use the "IEEE - Wiley eBooks Library" link or look up individual IEEE publications by title in the catalog (limit to Journal/Periodical Title). The McDermott Minute

  • Need to find a specific journal article? Have an article citation but don't know where to start?

What's the quickest way to see if the Library owns the article? Use the Library Catalog. Type in the title of the journal (NOT the article title) into the Basic Search (limit to "Journal/Periodical Title"), and the system will tell you if the Library owns it (in electronic, paper, and/or microform formats).
  • But what if the Library doesn't own the journal with the article that I need?
The quickest way to get something we do not own is to use the Library's Interlibrary Loan Service. Registration is fast and easy (and only required once). Afterward, you may place a request for the article. In two business days (often less) we will get an electronic copy of the article to you free of charge!

Tomorrow, the Writing Center and the McDermott Library will present the second workshop in their fall 2012 series for A&H graduate students. Please join us to learn more about how to enhance your writing and research skills.

The workshop will demonstrate how to improve your research methods through using effective search strategies. It will also address important grammar conventions by focusing on how to employ the principles of agreement, modification, parallelism, and active voice in your writing.
The workshop will include an open-question forum, and Professor Jessica Murphy will be on hand to take your questions and offer advice about your individual concerns.

If you can’t attend the entire session, please feel free to sit in on the discussion for as long as your schedule permits.
You can email Thomasina Hickmann with any questions about the workshop: hickmann@utdallas.edu
