Access to Springer Ebook Collections Restored

The library is happy to report that access to the ebook collections in Springer (see Friday, May 22nd posting) has been restored.

Access Problem with Springer Ebook Collections

We have recently discovered that when Springer turned off the library's access to a trial ebook collection, portions of ebook collections to which we are paid subscribers were turned off by mistake.

The affected collections are

• Springer Computer Science Collection ebooks, 2005-2009 (including Lecture Notes in Computer Science)
• Springer Behavioral Science Collection ebooks, 2005-2009
• Springer Business & Economics Collection ebooks, 2005-2009

We have reported the problem to Springer and intend to have those collections restored as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience imposed on our patrons.

Informaworld Down on Wednesday, May 27th

Informaworld e-journals (psychology and healthcare) will be unavailable while undergoing maintenance on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (May 27th) from midnight to 4am.

Planned Outage for Electronic Resources and the Catalog

UPDATE: The upgrade has been successful and the library catalog and electronic resources have been returned to normal function.

The electronic resources and catalog will be unavailable on Saturday, May 23, due to a campus-wide power outage.

Wiley Interscience Journals

The library would like to inform our patrons of two known issues - one that has occurred, and another planning to occur - with Wiley Interscience online journals.

1. May 2009 and newer issues are temporarily unavailable. A problem has arisen with the renewal of our institutional subscription. Until it is resolved, Wiley has temporarily blocked access to any issues to which we are subscribed starting with May 2009 forward. Patrons may request articles they need but cannot access by going to the Interlibrary Loan page (http://www.utdallas.edu/library/services/ill.htm).
   
2. Wiley Interscience will be temporarily down for maintenance on Monday (5.18) 3:00am - 4:00am.

SCOPUS Downtime on Saturday, May 16th

SCOPUS will be down for maintenance from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm CST this Saturday, May 16. Users may want to consider using other scientific databases under the Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Behavioral & Brain Sciences or Geosciences categories while SCOPUS is down.

Gerritsen Collection - Women's History Online is Back Online

Yesterday, we reported having problems with The Gerritsen Collection - Women's History Online database. It is now back online and fully operational. We apologize for any inconvenience the outage might have caused and thank our patrons for their patience.
