Library Marketplace for Fines and Fees Scheduled Downtime Starting March 20th

The library's vehicle for paying fines and fees online, Marketplace, will be taken down beginning Friday morning, March 20th for system upgrades. Patrons may pay their fines and fees in person at the Bursar's Office during its regular operating hours while Marketplace is down. We expect Marketplace to become fully operational as soon as Thursday, March 27th, although we will post on The Orbit as soon as service is positively re-established. The library appreciates your understanding and patience while we make upgrades to improve our online service.

IEEE Xplore Database Downtime on March 15th

An IEEE Xplore environment upgrade is scheduled for Saturday, 15 March, 2008. During this upgrade, the system will be unavailable for up to four (4) hours beginning at approximately 9:00 am CST . We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Database Downtime: Alexander Street Press - 3/10

Please be aware that one Alexander Street database will be unavailable on the morning of Monday, March 10th. This downtime is scheduled for 10:00 am CST and should not last more than 30 minutes.

During the downtime new content will be added to this and several other collections.

Weather Alert....FYI

Due to threatening weather, classes scheduled after 5 p.m. Thursday are canceled. All University offices will officially close at 4 p.m. Thursday, and non-essential personnel will be dismissed. Monitor the home page and your e-mail for any further announcements. Notification of changes in Friday class schedules, if any, will be posted between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.

This also includes the Library. The Library will officially be closed down at 4pm.

The library will be operating on an abbreviated schedule during Spring Break (Mar. 9-Mar. 15). Please take note of the changes during the coming week:

Sunday, Mar. 9 -- 1-10pm (NOTE: Add an hour to your clock, 2am will become 3am, for Daylight Savings Time.)

Monday-Friday, -- 9am-6pm
Mar. 10-14

Saturday, Mar. 15 -- CLOSED

Sunday, Mar. 16 -- Regular hours resume

The time to vote in the Texas Primary Election 2008 is today, but don't vote blindly. There are many Web sites you can check out for information on candidates and where to vote.

Congress Votes Database: Find the voting records of the U.S. Congress since the 102nd Congress (1991) : who missed votes, who voted in late-night sessions, which bills passed by a narrow margin and more.
