"Get It!" Full Text Button Feature Will Be Down on Sunday, February 3rd

The library has recently been alerted that the server for the popular "Get It!" button featured on the majority of our databases -- the service that helps users connect automatically to full-text holdings (electronic and paper texts) -- will be undergoing maintenance this Sunday, February 3rd, starting at 7pm and lasting 4 to 5 hours. At that time, the "Get It!" buttons and links will not work, and users will need to check the library catalog manually to determine whether we have access to the information in electronic and/or paper formats.

In most cases, users can use the following strategy to determine if the library has the information in question. First, you will need to open a new browser window to the library catalog. Using the "Basic Search," you will restrict your search to "Journal/Periodical Title" and insert the name of the journal, newspaper, or magazine (sometimes indicated as "source" or "publication") from the original database reference. Do not use the article title; only use the publication title from which the article comes. The catalog will indicate if the library owns the publication in paper, microform or electronic format. You will need the full reference from the database to know where to search in the paper and electronic formats for the article in question, i.e., any dates, volume and issues numbers, and page numbers provided.

For questions on how to use the catalog in conjunction with database searches, please contact a librarian. We apologize for any inconvenience that occurs while this important service is updated.

UPDATE: EZProxy Server & Electronic Resources Are Back Online!

We have concluded the updates of our equipment. The EZProxy server is now working for off- and on-campus access to databases, e-journals, and e-books. We thank you for your patience.

EZProxy Server & Electronic Resource Downtime for Saturday, Jan. 19th

We have to do some maintenance work on EZProxy server this Saturday. This means no off-campus access to databases, e-journal, e-books, and other services that require users to input their UTD-ID and password in order to use the library services remotely.

The estimated downtime will be 2 hours starting at 8.00 in the morning and should be back up around 10am.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Update: As of 10:20, we are still working to update the EXProxy server. Continue to check the library's site for access. We hope to have all electronic resource access running in proper order very shortly. We appreciate your patience.
