"Get It!" Button Problems with Blackwell-Synergy Titles

The library is currently experiencing problems with how the dark red SFX "Get It!" button displays in the Blackwell Synergy e-journal publisher's site. The button is supposed to appear next to items to which the library does not subscribe. At the moment, it displays on all entries along with UT Austin's gold "Find It" button. We are working to get the issue resolved so that our users will not be confused about content access. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Former U.S. Air Force Colonel Kim Olson will make a presentation on her book Iraq and Back: Inside the War to Win the Peace in celebration of Women Veterans for Veterans Day. The book explores her mission to rebuild Iraq and her journey through the sound and gender barriers of military aviation. Col. Olson recently joined the Dallas Independent School District as Chief of the Human Development Department. The UTD Bookstore will have copies of Iraq and Back available at the presentation and at the reception that follows in the Special Collections Department, 3rd floor, McDermott Library. IEEE Xplore Demonstration, Nov. 9th, 3PM, TI Auditorium

Learn something new about IEEE Xplore, the premier database for research in electrical engineering, electronics, and computer science! Xplore provides access to over 1.3 million full-text documents from peer-reviewed journals, magazines, conference proceedings, transactions, and newsletters published by IEEE and IET. Coverage for all publications starts in 1988, with select titles starting as far back as 1952. Xplore is the only database that provides access to standards (1988 to present), and it is available exclusively to UTD students, staff and faculty.

IEEE Downtime

On Saturday, 10 November, IEEE will implement an upgrade to the IEEE Xplore digital library.



As a result, users will experience approximately 2-4 hours of downtime on that date, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. EST (8:00am-12pm CST) .

A message will be posted to the IEEE Xplore home page to alert your users to the planned downtime.

Please take this into account when you plan your research.
