3rd Annual Library Haiku Contest Winner

After receiving well over 100 poems from a total of 63 contestants, the judges selected the following haiku based on its “Yoda-grammar” and “Zen-like musicality” and for capturing what we feel is the essence of the library:

Books galore, one sees.
Hushed conversations, one hears.
Peaceful here, one feels.

Congratulations, Mr. Daniel Barnes, for the winning submission! He has received an Amazon.com gift card for his contribution. In addition to bragging rights, he will be recognized in a future library newsletter and other outlets. All other contestants will receive a small consolation prize package claimable at the Reference Desk. All submissions will be preserved in the library's "Treasures" electronic repository.
